Monitor Versorgungsforschung

The Knowledge Hubs

Research portals for the German healthcare system: one search term opens the live search in every relevant database — and each morning brings a new selection of studies. This page explains what the hubs do; the hubs themselves are in German.

DEEN

Monitor Versorgungsforschung

A note on language The hubs are written in German: the interface, the search glossary and the daily study summaries. The literature behind them is international and English-language — what the hubs add is the bridge into German. If you read German, everything here is open to you at no cost and without registration. If you do not, our English-language journal Monitor Healthcare Research is the better starting point.

15 hubs are online

Together 1189 databases, 563 of them with a genuine live search; 2325 search terms in the German–English glossary. Each hub stands on its own and has its own daily newsletter. The search spaces do touch — depending on the hub, 3 to 28 per cent of the works found also fall within the field of another (checked 08/2026); the upper figure concerns health literacy and AI alone, and without the AI hub the range reaches only 13 per cent. In the daily selection this barely shows: of 2559 studies delivered so far, 90 have appeared in more than one hub.

Topics in care 11

These hubs follow a topic in health care across all conditions — how care is given, how people are vaccinated, how services are digitalised and how decisions are made. What gets selected is what changes care delivery.

Heat, climate & health

Knowledge Hub Heat, Climate & Health

Heat, extreme weather and climate change, and what they mean for care delivery, practice and population health. With a category of its own for climate and environmental measurement data rather than publications.

Disease areas 4

These hubs follow a disease area. They are built differently: they read the core journals of the field and show clinical and basic research — health services research is one category within them, not the yardstick. If you want to know what is moving in a field, this is the place.

Obesity

Knowledge Hub Obesity

Obesity as a question of care delivery: weight management, drug therapy and surgery — and who pays for treatment when Section 34 of the German Social Code Book V rules it out.

What all hubs have in common

The latest studies

The most recent work from each hub — summary, result and context are in the hub itself, in German.

Searches the German summaries of all 15 hubs, so please search in German. Results open at Monitor Versorgungsforschung in a new tab, where they can also be narrowed by period. To search a single topic, each hub has its own search box.
